Legal Service Clinics

OBJECTIVES OF THE FREE LEGAL AID CLINIC:

  • Promote legal education and research.
  • Paralegal services by the faculty and the students.
  • Centre for practical professional training for students of law.
  • Spread awareness in the society about contemporary legal issues and developments.

    Provide students necessary drafting and researching skills.
Anti-Ragging

The Anti-Ragging Committee will be the supervisory and advisory committee of a ragging-free environment on the college campus.


Objectives:

  • To build awareness of the effects of ragging and its consequences.
  • To keep a continuous watch over ragging and prevent its recurrence.
  • To promptly deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.
Human Rights Cell

The Human Rights Cell promotes awareness, dignity, and equality on campus. It organises talks, legal awareness activities, outreach programmes, and ensures that students understand their fundamental rights and duties. The Cell also provides support in matters involving discrimination, injustice, or rights violations, ensuring a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all.

 

STUDENTS GRIEVANEC REDRESSAL

Internal Complaints Committee

The ICC is constituted as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. It handles complaints of sexual harassment with confidentiality and fairness. Students and staff may submit complaints through the designated email or office. The ICC conducts enquiries, ensures support to complainants, and recommends action as per policy. The campus follows a strict zero-tolerance approach to harassment.

SC/ST Cell

As per the UGC Regulation, a Grievance Redressal Committee has been constituted for ABBS School of law, Bangalore with the objective of preventing unfair practices and to provide a mechanism to students, parents and others for redressal of their grievances.

The Committee is requested to Contribute effectively to address the grievances at the earliest. To register the compliant there is a separate Complain register kept in office of Law School. On receipt of the Compliant, the Member Secretary of the Grievance Redressal Committee will call Committee members, with information to the complainant on their day of Convenience. An aggrieved Student or Parent may appear in person to present his/her case.

Centers and Society

The Centre for Mediation encourages peaceful dispute resolution through dialogue and negotiation.

It trains students in mediation skills, conducts awareness programmes, and supports settlement of minor conflicts in a respectful and neutral manner. The Centre promotes a culture of communication, cooperation, and restorative practices.

The Youth Red Cross unit focuses on social responsibility, health awareness, and community service.

Students participate in blood donation drives, first-aid training, health camps, and outreach programmes supporting humanitarian values. The unit helps develop leadership, empathy, and social commitment among students.

The Students’ Union represents the student community

It acts as a bridge between learners and the institution. It promotes leadership, teamwork, participation, and student welfare on campus. The Union supports academic, cultural, sports, and social activities, encourages student initiatives, and helps maintain a positive and inclusive campus environment.

Members of the Students’ Union are selected/nominated as per institutional guidelines and work with faculty coordinators to plan events, address student concerns, and contribute to overall campus development.

Disciplinary

The Disciplinary Committee upholds campus discipline and behavioural standards. It looks into cases of misconduct, violation of institutional rules, and disputes involving students. The committee conducts fair enquiry, counsels students when required, and recommends corrective action. Its objective is to maintain a respectful, safe, and unbiased learning environment for everyone on campus.

Research

The Research Committee promotes academic research, writing, and publication among students and faculty. It supports participation in seminars, conferences, and legal competitions. The committee encourages research projects, helps in paper presentation guidance, and works towards strengthening the academic and scholarly culture of the institution.

Sports

The Sports Committee plans and organises sporting events, tournaments, and fitness activities throughout the academic year. It motivates students to participate in indoor and outdoor games, inter-college competitions, and training sessions. The committee works towards developing sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership skills, and a healthy lifestyle among students.

Cultural

The Cultural Committee is responsible for celebrations, fests, cultural evenings, talent shows, and artistic activities on campus. It provides a platform for students to showcase their abilities in music, dance, drama, and fine arts. By conducting various cultural programmes, the committee helps create a lively campus atmosphere and encourages participation, inclusivity, and creativity

Clubs and Society

Moot Court Society

The Moot Court Society introduces students to practical learning in courtroom advocacy. It organises training sessions on drafting, arguments, and research, conducts internal selection rounds, and mentors teams for external moot court competitions. The society helps students develop legal reasoning, confidence, and a strong foundation in litigation skills.

Environmental Club

The Environmental Club aims to build environmental awareness and responsibility among students. It undertakes plantation drives, clean-campus initiatives, recycling activities, and awareness campaigns on sustainability. The club promotes eco-friendly practices within the campus and encourages students to become environmentally conscious citizens.

Debate Club

The Debate Club focuses on improving students’ analytical thinking, public speaking, and communication. It holds debates, group discussions, and training workshops on current affairs, legal issues, and social topics. The club provides a platform for students to express opinions respectfully, learn structured argumentation, and build confidence in articulation.

IPR Club

The Intellectual Property Rights Club creates awareness about copyrights, trademarks, patents, and other areas of IP law. It organises expert lectures, student activities, quizzes, and discussions on emerging issues in IPR. The club inspires students to explore the legal dimensions of innovation, creativity, and technology.

NSS

The Motto of NSS “Not Me but You” is incongruent to the vision and mission of the institution.
